Tulsa Public Schools' superintendent says a recent report shows that the school district has significant racial and economic discrepancies in student discipline and attendance. The issues appear in the number of student suspensions, school attendance and performance in math and reading, the Tulsa World (http://bit.ly/2fa6VDi ) reported. The report was presented at a school board meeting last week. According to the report, out-of-school suspensions dropped significantly this year but black students continue to be suspended more than students of other races. The report also said that student attendance has improved this year, but data show students from more impoverished backgrounds have been more likely to miss school. www.dailyprogress.com/tulsa-public-schools-report-shows-disparities-in-discipline/article_a4f07c63-3fa3-52ea-bc6b-0c4cbf1f582c.html
